Yellow Jackets

The Georgia Tech women’s lacrosse team competed in the NCAA Division I tournament. Kylee Colbert established herself as one of the top midfielders in the country. Kate Timarky showed great stickhandling skills and a high IQ. Taylor Cline demonstrated great vision and relentless hustle. Delaney Radin and Alyssa Deacy showed excellent vision and scrappiness. Alexa Kuhn was a leader in the defensive unit.

South Yellow Jackets

The South Yellow Jackets Lacrosse team is home to some of the top talent in the southern region. Players train in Richmond, VA, to hone their skills. This program emphasizes player development, and players learn the history of the Long Island Elite Yellow Jackets. Players are also prepared to face the best club teams in the country. Here’s a look at what to expect from the South Yellow Jackets.

North

The North Yellow Jackets lacrosse team finished the regular season with a 7-0 record. The squad dominated the Connecticut Dodgers, 20-2. The team defeated the LRLC 16-0 and NESLL 8-4. They also defeated BBL 2017 10-4. The team will be back in action on Wednesday, May 4 when they take on the No. 3 seed, St. John Fisher. The team won the season opener against Methodist, a team that finished ranked second in the MAC Commonwealth. The Yellow Jackets’ stout defense and quick slides knocked the Seminoles’ dodgers off course, throwing their offense out of Rhythm. A team like Florida State is not likely to win the National Championship, but they should be able to finish high in the NCAA Tournament if they keep the momentum.

The Jackets scored twice in the first quarter. A goal from Zach Schenken was assisted by Gino Pagliaro. Another goal was scored on an empty net while a Jacket was trying to double. The Jackets out-scored the Seminoles 18-9. In the second half, the Jackets played a full roster, and Sam Eck led with seven goals and three assists. Although Georgia Tech scored first, they were tied after three quarters.

Club

Long Island girl’s lacrosse travel club team, the Yellow Jackets, has won the Northeast Regional Championship. They defeated Ultimate Elite 15-10. The Yellow Jackets took an early lead in the final game and never looked back. Lead by Jamie Ortega, the team scored five of its six goals in the first half. They held a 12-7 halftime lead and went on to win the tournament. The team is now a nationally recognized, premier club program.

The Club of Yellow Jackets provides financial support for intercollegiate athletic programs at Randolph-Macon College. They provide funds for expenses deemed extraordinary by the athletic department and by participating in annual fundraising activities. The mission of the Club is to promote and increase participation in intercollegiate sports, to provide opportunities for the community, and to support the athletic department. It also maintains a competitive athletic program in accordance with the NCAA and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Tryouts

The tryouts for the 2021 season of the Sacramento Yellow Jackets Lacrosse team will begin on December 2nd. The teams will have a regional selection process, but athletes may also tryout for all regions. The program will begin with a summer camp for 8th graders, and then go through tryouts to see if they make the team. In addition to tryouts, players may attend camps, clinics, and games in the area.

To register, players must have current USA lacrosse membership. If you live in a non-representative state, select a region nearest to you. The regional representatives will organize tryouts and recruit the top players from their region. Yellow Jackets Lacrosse also offers an in-house recreational hockey league called Junior Jackets. Players in this program must be ages five to 18 and be a USA lacrosse member.

Clearwater

The Clearwater Yellow Jackets Lacrosse team was started in 1995 by Tom Losier. The program began with about thirty players and has grown to more than 300. Today, the team participates in the Tampa Lacrosse Alliance. The team meets weekly to practice and plays games on Saturdays at 9 AM. The team plays small-sided games (4 on 4) to encourage creativity and develop a better player. Players may also use the time for other activities such as learning the sport.

The men’s team has had a lot of success this season. In the first game, the Yellow Jackets outscored RPI 25-2. They went on to win the game, 76-45. The team is now 2-0. In addition to the Yellow Jackets, the team also plays the Hobart College Knights and Western Connecticut State University’s Cardinals. The game will be held at Philip Jones Stadium in Clearwater, Fla.

Long island

Team

The Summer Travel Team will showcase top Long Island talent in competitive games. The Yellow Jackets compete in many competitive tournaments with championship-level goals, including the Long Island Lacrosse League (LRLC). Players will also have the opportunity to get exposure to college coaches. Although players do not receive a guaranteed number of games, they will be able to learn and improve on the sport while competing against the best lacrosse teams in the country.

The 2017 Team Yellow Jackets lacrosse program won the US Lacrosse Northeast Regional Championship. The team defeated Ultimate Elite in a 15-10 final. The Yellow Jackets went on to win their other games by establishing an early lead. They were led by Jamie Ortega, who scored five of her six goals in the first half, and sparked a 12-7 lead at halftime. The Yellow Jackets are still undefeated this year, and are advancing to the national championship tournament.
