Awardees
The 29th State level National Children’s Science Congress was recently held in the Itanagar capital region. Children from different districts from the state presented their projects. The judges evaluated their projects and selected the best ten. The next step will be to select the best two projects to represent their region at the Indian Science Congress. To get involved in the competition, teachers and child scientists can use the activity books to guide them in their project development.
The NCSC is a science fair which is held every year in India to promote interest in and appreciation of science. NCSC is a major event for children, and the winning projects are often the ones that are most inspiring to the younger generation. Arunachal Pradesh’s delegation is comprised of ten students, four escorts and two officials from the APSCS&T. The students will be able to attend the NCSC in Ahmedabad, which runs from the 27th to the 31st of November. One of these students will be selected to represent the state at the Indian Science Congress in January 2018.
Those selected to participate in the national level will be awarded a certificate at the awards ceremony. The awards ceremony will be held in Gujarat in December. The Director General of the Ministry of Science and Technology will address the awardees and invite them to attend the nationals in their state. It will be the first time that India has awarded awards to students. And this is a big step for India’s science education.
